We come to you, guide a thoughtful conversation, and shape the strongest moments into a beautifully edited film that can be shared for generations.

Story Preparation
Before filming, your family receives our Preparing to Tell Your Story guide, designed to make the process feel clear and manageable. It helps identify meaningful people, experiences, lessons, photographs, keepsakes, and family materials that may help shape the interview.
Pre-Interview Planning Call
After reviewing your completed guide, we schedule a phone call to discuss the stories you most hope to preserve, answer questions, and plan the interview. Once that conversation is complete, we schedule the filming day.
In-Home Filming
Our team comes to the storyteller’s home, creates a professional filming setup, and guides a relaxed, natural conversation.
Film Creation
We select the strongest moments, incorporate meaningful photographs or archival materials, and shape the interview into a polished Life Story Film.
Review and Delivery
Your family has an opportunity to review the film before receiving the completed project through private digital delivery.

Signature Life Story Film

A professionally produced film centered on one person's most meaningful stories, relationships, experiences, and lessons.

Family Legacy Film

A more expansive film that includes additional perspectives and family materials to tell a fuller story.
Includes everything in the Signature Life Story Film, plus:
- One additional storyteller, such as a spouse or family member
- Extended filming time
- A polished 15–25-minute film
- More extensive use of photographs and family materials
- Selected family video or audio, when provided digitally
- Additional standalone story clips
- Full interview recordings

Travel within our standard Upstate South Carolina service area is included. Projects outside that area will receive a clear travel quote before booking.
Looking for a self-guided, budget option?
The Story Station is available as a one-week local rental for $500.
We provide a tablet on a stand with a premium microphone, lighting, simple instructions, and guided prompts. Your family records stories at home, at your own pace, without scheduling a filming crew.
Each response is automatically edited into an individual story clip and the final compilation of stories is delivered digitally to your family.
The Story Station offers a simple, flexible way to preserve meaningful stories, but it does not include the professional interviewing, production oversight, visual storytelling, or custom editing of a Life Story Film.
FAQ
What if the person being filmed is uncomfortable on camera?
That is completely normal. We film in a familiar setting, keep the crew small, and guide the interview like a relaxed conversation rather than a performance. There is no need to memorize anything or prepare a speech.
Do I have to travel to a studio?
No. We bring the cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to you.
Most interviews are filmed in the storyteller's home, where they can feel comfortable and surrounded by familiar people, photographs, and keepsakes. We can also film at another meaningful location when appropriate.
How much preparation is required?
Your family will complete our Preparing to Tell Your Story guide and speak with us before filming. We handle the interview planning, questions, production, and editing.
Can you include photographs, home movies, or audio recordings?
Yes. Old family photographs can be included in our professionally produced films. Home movies, audio recordings, and other materials can also be incorporated at an additional cost.
My stories are meant for my family. What is your privacy policy?
The Legacy Station will not publish, share, or use any portion of your film unless we first ask for and receive your explicit written permission, such as permission to use a short clip for promotional purposes.
After delivery, your family decides how the film is shared and who receives access to it.
How long does the process take?
The final product is generally available within 6–8 weeks after filming. The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the project. We will provide an expected filming and delivery timeline before the project begins.
Do you travel?
Yes. Travel within our standard Upstate South Carolina service area is included. Projects outside that area receive a clear travel quote in advance.
